At last, a new post after years of silence!
It’s been busy months/years, with lot’s of time wisely spent in nature doing activities I love (MTB, Snowboarding) 🙂
But thanks to COVID, I suddenly found myself with plenty of spare time locked at home. So I took the opportunity to recover this forgotten page (migration to new hosting, recover from failed WordPress upgrades and fix DB corruption issues).
Not much has changed since last update, I still own and love my Glanza, but higher priorities came up. No more mods, upgrades, carPCs etc. At the end of the day, car technology reached to a point, that anyone can buy from AliExpress any ready made Android Auto device 🙂
Anyhow, just a quick update on a refresh of my Headlights mod. After 10+ years of flawless operation, one of my Morimoto bulbs burnt.
I was about to place the bulbs with an identical brand/model, but I came across some very good reviews on Osram’s Xenarc Night Breaker Laser D2S bulbs.
Apparently these bulbs at same wattage produce a much higher brightness output, 5200 Lumens according to Osram, and I believe them. Definitely that’s real Lumens, not “Chinese-Lumens” 🙂
Essentially, this is not a “mod”, as the ones I posted in the past. But just a very easy and highly recommended upgrade for anyone with D2S bulbs.
  
As I mentioned, I don’t have the time or motivation anymore to do much to my Glanza. I love it just the way it is 🙂
