LEDs front indicators

Posted in Electronics mods by admin on April 14th, 2008

In the process of “LEDding” up my car, I couldn’t leave out the trafficators.

I replaced each of the original 25W bulbs with 15 amber 5mm LEDs. I placed the LEDs in sets of 5s in vertical and structured them using the anorthodox method of glued together cable tights(!?)

Oh well… it was late at night and I didn’t have the proper supplies, and I was really anxious to finish this mod :)

Due to the much lower power consumption of the LEDs circuit, I originally had to place a load resistor, to fool the car into believing that the 25W bulbs are in place… and stop warning me that my bulbs are burnt. At a later stage I purchased a new blinking unit specialized for LED lights.
